Postcards From Key West

We spent over a month in Key West. The city does a great job of accommodating the needs of sailors for shore access, pumpout service, showers, trash disposal etc. The availability of supplies and provisioning, though not the most budget friendly was a very welcome change. During our stay, we did the following: received most of our Sailing Services order, installed new back and fore stays, performed regular boat maintenance, explored the Conch Republic, had time with friends and family and provisioned up for our next leg. It was time to sail on.

We would do little key hopping day sails up Hawk Channel to Miami. Sail all day, sleep all night on the hook and remember why we love sailing so much. The imitable Morgan from Sailing Services would meet us in Miami to give us the rest of our rigging order. My feet get itchy with a need for motion after being in one place for too long. Time to haul up the anchor and see what comes next. In the meantime, thanks Key West. You’ve been swell.
